“Science for Democracy – We for You” (WfD) was founded on May 23, 2025, in Heidelberg in response to a growing social challenge: the loss of trust in science and democracy.

Our goal is to bring science and its findings back to where they belong: at the heart of life. We are researchers, teachers, creatives, students, parents – people who no longer want to stand by and watch. As a non-profit association, we promote fact-based debate, counter disinformation, and advocate for an open, independent science system. We see ourselves as a civil society movement and platform that is committed to strengthening an open, democratic, and knowledge-based society.

We are convinced that facts are the backbone of our democracy.
